About PrairieFire

Cindy Storz has been involved with training and raising animals all her life. She grew up with German Shepherds, has been involved with an organization that helped to train and place guide dogs with the blind and has raised and shown show horses.
When Cindy was old enough to ride a bicycle, she would ask her mother if she could visit the office of Dr. Jarrett, a local veterinarian. She would spend hours observing at Dr. Jarrett's office and asking questions.

One day, one of Dr. Jarrett's patients brought in a litter of Doberman puppies that were having problems. The patient was unable to pay his bill so he agreed to give one of the puppies to Dr. Jarrett to help compensate him for his services. Dr. Jarrett gave the puppy to his son, Rob who shared his enjoyment of the dog with Cindy who also grew to love the breed.

Cindy researched many Doberman breeders in hopes that one day she would own her own Doberman. Little did she know that her fiance, Steve would present her with her "engagement ring" in 1973 --- Baron (a black Doberman). Thus began Cindy's official involvement with breeding Dobermans, and with the help and education from Alan and Jacqueline Wendt and Eleanor Brown, she has produced numerous champion Dobermans.

Cindy wanted a small dog with a big mind and she became interested in herding and agility and obtained her first Cardi, "Hobbitt". Since then she has bred several Cardis who have quickly become champions.

When Steve and Cindy are not working on their busy landscaping business, they are caring for, training, showing dogs. They are both passionate about every aspect of their lives and this shows in both their line breeding programs and in their landscaping business.

We produce only a few litters a year because we are looking to improve our lines. Therefore, we research and evaluate not only the pedigree of a potential sire, but we look at the qualities of the dogs that we feel would improve our lines.

When offering our studs for service, we are equally careful. Genetic longevity, health and temperament are important issues to consider. Making sure that any new life coming into this world is going to be cared for is equally important, so we screen potential bitches and their owners to make sure they are responsible breeders and are looking to improve their lines.

If you are interested in contacting us about a possible breeding, we would love to talk to you. Just e-mail or give us a call. We will want to look at the pedigree of the dog or bitch you are looking to breed and it will be necessary to supply health information.
